KALYAN: A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly drugging and raping a woman inside his car in March and later blackmailing her for sexual favours, threatening to circulate her photos taken while she was unconscious.
Under the pretext of giving the victim a lift in his car to his father's factory, where he had promised her a job, the accused allegedly gave her a juice laced with a sedative and later raped her. He also made a video and took photographs on his phone which he later used to blackmail her and demand sexual favours. Late on Sunday night after the victim filed a complaint, police registered a case under IPC sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of the IT Act.
